Is your Omega 3 from safe source?

I knew of many parents who gives fish oil to their kids thinking that the fish oil's omega 3 will be good for their brain.

Find out more from the below article and make an informed choice.

Under the science of Nutritional Immunology, wholesome plant foods provide omega-3 fatty acids without increasing cholesterol intake or depleting vitamin E, while containing healthful antioxidants, phytochemicals and polysaccharides. However, even among plant foods, there are those that are better sources of omega-3. There are several criteria for determining good plant sources of omega-3.

Choose plant foods that contain more omega-3 than omega-6 to make up for high levels of omega-6 elsewhere in one's diet. These include chia seed and kiwi fruit seed. It is also useful to note that wholesome plant foods such as walnuts contain omega-3, they have higher levels of omega-6.

How do you choose cooking oil?

Do we know what is the best oil to use for our daily diet? I have been confused which is the best oil to buy when I am doing shopping at the supermarket. There are so many types of oil in the market. I usually spend a long time reading at the ingredients of the oil to decide which cooking oil is the best.

After doing research on cooking oil, I learn that there are two important points that you should know when choosing healthy cooking oil.

1) Omega 6 : Omega 3 ratio

Cooking oil is the primary source of omega-6 fatty acids in modern society. This is due to the large amount of oil in the modern diet, and also because of the general misconception that vegetable oils are healthy and can thus be consumed in any amount. As a result, the ratio of omega-6:omega-3 ratio consumed can often be as high as 30:1.

2) Smoke Point

A smoke point is the temperature at which cooking oil starts to smoke. Each type of cooking oil has a smoke point. Once the temperature of the oil's smoke point is reached, the oil starts to break down and smoke, producing toxic, or even carcinogenic, substances.

Tips for Selecting Healthy Cooking Oils

Cooking Oil
Smoke Point (°C)
Omega-6:Omega-3
Macadamia Oil
210
1:1
Perilla Seed Oil
202-250
1:4
Kiwi Fruit Seed Oil

7.1:1
Olive Oil

12.8:1
Tea Seed Oil

31.8:1
Sunflower Oil

39.4:1
Corn Oil
160
46.1:1
Sesame Oil

137:1
Peanut Oil

32:0

Based on the above findings, Macademia oil is a better option for high heat baking, stir frying, deep frying and high heat cooking.

I start to use E Excel Macademia oil whenever using my oven for high heat baking and stir frying. It is formulated using 95.5% macadamia oil and 4.5% perilla seed oil, which has a smoke point of 210oC and has much higher Omega 3 than Omega 6.

Mild in flavor, it is ideal for stir-frying, deep-frying, grilling, roasting and baking.

How to eat more than 10 types of fruits and vegetables in one day?

Diseases have to break the immune system's line of defence before the body can succumb to them. Disease rates are rising because of lack of awareness about protecting the immune system and exposure to factors that weaken immunity, such as environmental pollution, unhealthy diet, drug abuse and stress. These cause the immune system to be under attack and prone to infection, resulting in poor health.

Research has shown that a diet rich in a large variety of plant foods can enhance health without any harmful side effects. This is because plant foods contain abundance of antioxidants, phytochemicals and polysaccharides-nutrients bestowed by Nature to help us prevent diseases.

In order to increase fruits and vegetable intake in our family diet, today I have prepared vegetables juice for my family. The ingredients are Japanese cucumber, some red cabbage, green apple, kale, beet root, chia seed, Greek yogurt and a tablespoon of honey. In total there are 8 ingredients in my juice. Firstly dice all vegetable into cubes or small pieces. Next place the ingredients in a powerful blender to make the juice have a smooth consistency.

An alternative convenient way to eat more than 15 types of fruits and vegetables is to take a ready-mix sachet drink of organic and wholesome food. This sachet contains 15 fruits and vegetables. They are Soybeans, Grape, Banana, Pineapple, Asparagus, Barley, Broccoli, Cabbage, Cantaloupe, Carrot, Citrus Peel, Honeydew, Peas, Pear, Peach, Grapefruit, Lemon, Rice Powder.

Testimonial from N.U.Lee that he has stop having chronic cough

Name.        :   N.U.Lee
Age.           :   61
Profession :   Retired Engineer

I suffered from chronic cough for the past one and the half years. Since January 2014 I have been consulting specialists and general practitioners for my cough but every time the medicine is finished my cough will become serious again. So it is a never ending journey of seeking treatments and taking medicine. I have taken antibiotics countless times but it has no effects.

I have also undergone x- rays to rule out cancerous growth and done the mantoux test to rule out tuberculosis.

Finally, in June this year ( 2015) I was introduced to E-excel products. I started taking one tablet of Act and Noco in the morning before breakfast and repeat the process before bedtime. At night I also took a dose of orchestra which is a mixed fruit beverage. After taking for 3 days, my cough has disappeared. I have been cured. I wished that I had known about these products earlier . Then I do not have to suffer for so long and wasted so much money on seeking treatments.

It is my hope that this testimony will help other Sufferers , adults as well as children who are suffering from cough and other ailments  so that they will benefit and have a healthy life.

Best Regards,

Chapter 2 Nutritional Immunology Live with Dr Chen

My friends and I attended Chapter 2 Live with Dr Chen in Resorts World Convention Center in Sentosa on 23rd July. It was a full house event and it was heartwarming to know more and more people are  health conscious.

It was full house and It is heartwarming to know more and more people are health conscious.

A little background about Dr Chen. Dr Chen found the company E Excel. E Excel has been committed to its goal of creating a world without disease. The mission "To share the gifts of health and knowledge with mankind" has always been the company's top priority.

Dr Chen passionately sharing her Nutritional Immunology knowledge with the public

Scientific truths are eternal. In the past, despite vitamin supplements being the norm, we had already started emphasizing the importance of wholesome plant-based nutrition. E Excel's Nutritional Immunology has withstood the test of time and today more and more research findings have validated our core principles.  What is Nutritional Immunology? Below are the topics of discussion for Chapter 2.

Chapter 2 Live With Dr Chen (LWDC)

Is it true that we have to take vitamin supplements every day? Are there any detrimental effects from overdose of vitamin pills?

Many of us lead busy lives with little time to eat balanced meals. As such, we assume by popping a multivitamin pill we are able to made up for what we lack. We think that even if these pills do not help us, at least they will not harm us.

Moreover, as vitamin labels usually list the US Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) of vitamins and minerals, we assume the pill contains an ideal does.

This assumption is flatly refuted by experts like the US FDA and British Standards Agency (FSA). The FDA and FSA advise that popping such pills regularly could do serious harm to the body.

Eg too much Vitamin A can cause fatigue while an excess of vitamin B6 can affect the nervous system. Too much vitamin A or just 5 times the RDA of vitamin D can damage the liver. There is a difference on how our body function between taking wholesome food and synthetic vitamins. Extraction of nutrient from its original source transforms that nutrient's biochemical structure, Scientists propose that some extracted nutrients like vitamin C will oxidize and release billions of free radicals that are harmful to the body. Whereas when we eat an orange we obtain Vitamin C that is beneficial to the body.

All about where vitamins supplements come from?

Are Vitamin Supplements Good or Bad? Do vitamin supplements prevent diseases?

Must pregnant women take folic acid?

Research links to much Folic Acid- a staple in multivitamins as well as cereal and bread to colon, lung and prostate cancer. Do not mistaken on folate found in our leafy greens and beans compare to folic acid added in synthetic form breakfast cereal, nutrition bars or flour.

We all need the natural folate found in leafy greens, beans, orange, and other foods, and diets high in these foods are perfectly healthy. When cells in the body are healthy, folate helps shepherd along the normal replication of DNA. But when cells are malignant or in danger of becoming so--and as many as half of adults older than 60 could already have precancerous colon polyps, while most middle-aged men have precancerous cells in their prostates--animal studies suggest excess folate in the form of folic acid may act like gas on the fire.

Is too much folic acid giving you cancer?

Can taking calcium supplements prevent osteoporosis? Can taking more calcium pills help our bones regain the calcium it has lost?

To prevent osteoporosis, some turn to calcium pills, taking 1,000-1,500 mg of calcium daily. However, increasing calcium intake seems to offer little protection against osteoporosis.
Very little calcium can be absorbed and calcium absorption decreases with age. During the growing years calcium absorption is rapid - a baby absorbs up to 400mg of calcium a day and excretes only 10 to 40 mg. Unlike children and teenagers, adults only absorb 20%-30% of calcium consumed, with the figure even lower for postmenopausal women at no more than 7%.

There are harmful side effects on calcium pills as it can cause formation of kidney stones. Poor kidney function can cause calcium to accumulate in soft tissues instead of bones, possibly leading to arthritis, heart disease and senile dementia.

Cow's milk is commonly thought to help build strong bones as it is rich in calcium. However, there is little evidence that increasing milk intake will aid in building bones.

Is cow's milk good for us?

In order to build strong bones, we have to exercise. It helps to increase and preserve bone mass. Secondly, plants naturally contain calcium which they absorb from soil. Soy is a plant food that is rich in calcium. Soy is also low in fat and cholesterol free. Phytoestrogens unique to soy can effectively prevent bone loss, enhance the body's calcium absorption and increase bone mineral density. Lastly our human body makes vitamin D when exposed to the sun. About 10-15 minutes in the sun 3 times weekly is enough to produce the body's requirement of vitamin D.

Many people encounter joint pain issues, hence are taking glucosamine, hoping it helps with cartilage to grow. Is it effective? Are there any side effects?

Auto-immune diseases such as Arthritis, Lupus, Psoriasis are getting common these days. What are autoimmune diseases? How can we prevent or improve such conditions?

Eating  meat and dairy products raises the risk of autoimmune diseases like inflammatory polysrthritis ( any types of arthritis that involves five or more joints simultaneously). Some studies have suggested that cow's milk based infant formulas and cow's milk consumption in childhood may promote the development of type-1 diabetes.

Consuming Meat and Dairy products causes inflammation on the intestinal lining (Leaky Gut). Food is digested in the stomach and intestines and broken down into small molecules that pass through intestinal walls to enter the bloodstream. The intestinal walls act as a filter and protective barrier. If this "filter" is damaged (due to inflammation) there will be increased intestinal permeability (known as leaky gut). This allows incompletely digested big molecules to pass through intestinal walls into the bloodstream. When these substances accumulate in certain organs in the body, they stimulate the immune system to react by initiating inflammatory responses. While attacking the foreign substances, the immune system may mistakenly attack the organs where these foreign substances are leading to autoimmune diseases.

Our modern diet have excessive omega 6 ( found in vegetable oil and processed fast food), fried food, red meat and dairy cause inflammation to the body and autoimmune disease. We can fight autoimmune diseases with increasing Omega 3 from plant and change our diet.

Other topics that were covered are on sleep, GMO food, Nano technology, mosquitoes bites and right way to lose weight. PM me if you want detail information on any of the topic discussion.

Taking Glucosamine can cause diabetes

The human body can produce glucosamine (An amino sugar) from glucose and glutamine (an amino acid). As the body ages, it needs more antioxidants to help maintain healthy cell regeneration. A plant base diet rich in glutamine and antioxidants provides the body with material to stimulate glucosamine production and help prevent osteoarthritis.

Common glucosamine supplements are extracted from chitin a material present in the shells of crabs, lobsters and shrimp. In order to meet the market demand, 80% of the shellfish are farmed in China. To ensure profitability and secure high economic returns, some farmers use antibiotics and growth hormones during cultivation. These chemicals are harmful to humans. In general, animal- derived glucosamine supplements have many hidden danger.

The side effect of glucosamine include insulin resistance. Glucosamine is 10 times more potent than regular glucose in causing insulin resistance in animals. It activates a metabolic pathway in the body that leads to the deterioration of insulin-producing cells in the pancreas and causes insulin resistance, two factors associated with diabetes. High doses or prolonged use of glucosamine can cause death of pancreatic cells and increase the risk of developing diabetes.

Nutritional Immunology on Joint Care
The health benefits by wholesome plant foods far surpass any manmade nutrient. Wholesome plant food are the safest source that the body needs for healing, repair and maintenance.

Nutritional Immunology advocates eating plant foods that can help the body produce collagen as lack of collagen in our body will cause joint degeneration and joint pain. Oxyginberry ingredients are rich in antioxidants and phytochemicals to help the body produce collagen.

Nutritional Immunology advocates eating plant foods rich in glutamine, manganese and antioxidants to stimulate the human body’s natural production of glucosamine. Nutritional Immunology products are called G-ART. G-ART contain (brown algae, spinach, parsley, ginger, Alfafa and cactus)

Is cow's milk good for us?

Is cow's milk really good for us? Do you think cow's milk is for human consumption?

Have you ever ponder about this question before?

Since young, we have been told about the goodness of dairy product, i.e. excellent sources of protein and calcium.

So I always thought that milk is the only good source for protein and calcium, that's why I consumed pregnancy milk powder during my first pregnancy.

However, when I realised that my second son has cow's milk protein allergy I started doing some research on this topic.

Now, let us start from: Is milk really a good source for calcium?

Do you know that USA has a much high percentage of people getting osteoporosis as compared to Japan? Just simply look at the diet of normal North Americans, their diet is rich in dairy products such as milk, cheese, etc. But why are the North Americans still have a high percentage of osteoporosis patients despite their dairy rich diet?

Why most of the world does not eat dairy products and do not have bone problems and calcium deficiency?

There must be something terribly wrong with the message that milk (and milk products) will give us healthy bones.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Debunking The Milk Myth: Why Milk Is Bad For You And Your Bones

Milk depletes the calcium from your bones

The milk myth has spread around the world based on the flawed belief that this protein and calcium-rich drink is essential to support good overall health and bone health in particular at any age. It is easy to understand that the confusion about milk’s imaginary benefits stems from the fact that it contains calcium – around 300 mg per cup.

But many scientific studies have shown an assortment of detrimental health effects directly linked to milk consumption. And the most surprising link is that not only do we barely absorb the calcium in cow’s milk (especially if pasteurized), but to make matters worse, it actually increases calcium loss from the bones.

What an irony this is!

Here’s how it happens. Like all animal protein, milk acidifies the body pH which in turn triggers a biological correction. You see, calcium is an excellent acid neutralizer and the biggest storage of calcium in the body is – you guessed it… in the bones. So the very same calcium that our bones need to stay strong is utilized to neutralize the acidifying effect of milk. Once calcium is pulled out of the bones, it leaves the body via the urine, so that the surprising net result after this is an actual calcium deficit.

Knowing this, you’ll understand why statistics show that countries with the lowest consumption of dairy products also have the lowest fracture incidence in their population (there’s more on this later).
But the sad truth is that most mainstream health practitioners ignore these proven facts. I was brought up thinking drinking milk is good, until I came to know more from Nutritional Immunology.
